General conditions of Motorcycle-Travel

Motorcycle-Travel wishes to provide you with optimum safety and comfort for your tour and we take notice for all possible situations. Therefore, we ask you to read the following carefully, so you are aware of the conditions that apply when you purchase a tour with us.

 

  • Technical organizer

  • Deposit and binding agreements

    The agreement is binding for both parties, when the deposit is received on time. The deposit is normally equal to USD 1.000 per person, but can be different depending of the type of product. By paying the deposit you confirm that you have accepted the given terms and general conditions of the journey. If the deposit is not received by the specified deadline, the booking is cancelled.
  • Final Payment

    The outstanding payment must be received within 60 days of departure unless otherwise stated. Once payment is received, the final confirmation will be forwarded, so that they arrive at least 14 days before departure.
  • Price of the tour

    Besides the travel price, you will be charged USD 10,- per. person for product liability insurance, which is the travel agent’s liability insurance covering any liability under the law of package tours
  • Amendment and cancellation of the tour

    The trip can be changed free of charge until the deposit and/or final payment is received. After payment of the deposit and/or final payment, the agreement is binding.

    For cancellations of the total tours (aircraft and other tourist services) the general cancellation conditions are as follows:

    • If canceled more than 60 days before departure, the cancellation fee is equal to the deposit.
    • If canceled from 60 to 30 days before departure, the fee is 50% of the tours total price.
    • If canceled less than 30 days before departure, the fee is 100% of the tours total price.

    If the travel agency does not have sufficient number of participants for a scheduled group tour, the tour may be canceled up to four weeks before departure. The number of participants required to complete the tour is a minimum of 10 motorcycles. In case of cancellation, you are not entitled to compensation, in addition to a refund of the already paid amount.

    These fees are charged unless otherwise stated in the order confirmation. If the purchase of tickets e.g. theater, concerts, sporting events and the like, these are non-refundable.

  • Transfer of travel

    Transfer of the travel to another person is due to the rules of the subcontractor rarely possible. Always check with the travel agent about the rules for your trip.
  •  

  • Travel insurance

    Motorcycle-Travel recommends that you take out adequate travel, health and accident insurance as well as trip cancellation insurance. We will request information about your Travel Insurance Company and whom we should contact in an emergency.
  • Missed departure insurance

    Traffic, weather may cause situations in which connections are missed. It is therefore recommended to take out insurance against missed departure.
  • Bankruptcy Insurance and Coverage

    Buying a motorcycle tour, guided or self guided from Motorcycle-Travel, you are automatically protected 100 % against any bankruptcy through the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund. I case of bankruptcy of Motorcycle-Travel or any croup related companies, your deposit and/or full payment will be covered by the insurance in full.
  • RESPONSIBILITY

    Motorcycle-Travel is responsible for providing the services listed in our tour description according to the local standard and the accurate description of services offered by Motorcycle-Travel.

    Motorcycle-Travel and our partners carefully selects and is constantly checking its contractors, such as hotels and service providers. Motorcycle-Travel is not responsible or liable for any accidents and cannot be held liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the operation or the client’s participation in connection with the tour, which might result in injury, death or other damage to the client, his property, or his family.

    Motorcycle-Travel is not responsible for any delays, changes in schedule or other conditions, which causes delay or no show from customers side.

  • Times in the itinerary and tickets

    The times specified in ticket and itinerary times are local times.
  • Tours to the US

    In order to travel to/through the US, you have to be registered and approved. The traveler is responsible for registration through: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov. Registration should be made well in advance of the trip and at least 72 hours before entry. Furthermore, we have to include date of birth when ordering tickets to the US, as this is a requirement.
  • Passport, visa and vaccinations

    The traveler is required to have a valid passport, visa, transit visa and required vaccinations, also for accompanying children. Check that you have blank pages for stamps in your passport before departure, since you may be rejected in certain countries if this is not the case.

    When traveling outside the EU, or with the purchase of a cruise, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return. It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure that the entry and exit rules for the countries visited are observed. If your passport contains stamps from Israel you must make the agent aware of this when booking as it can exclude entry in several countries.

    It is the country’s authorities, which defines the rules for entry, and this information should be obtained through the consulate or embassy. It is also the traveler’s responsibility to check that all travel documents are correct; eg.that names are spelled correctly in accordance with the passports. If there is a discrepancy between travel documents and the name in the passport you can be rejected at check-in. There is a fee for name change in already issued documents, which can be up to the price of a new ticket. To check if the name and ticket match, a Photo ID needs to be presented, both at check-in and when boarding the plane. Always remember your passport, also when travelling in Scandinavia.

    Non-Danish nationals should inquire for information about the current rules at his country’s embassy or consulate and at Statens Serum Institut. If you fail to do so, the travel agency assumes no responsibility for the consequences that missing travel documents, vaccinations, etc. may have for the traveler.

    No show and unused services.

    If you have not canceled the tour and/or do not show at the specified times, or if you cannot complete the journey due to lack of travel documents, such as a valid passport, visa and vaccination certificate, etc., you have no right to compensation. When purchasing a flight ticket with more than one line, all prior flights need to be flown for the last flight to be valid. Airlines have the right to cancel further flights if the passenger does not show up for one or more flight of the issued ticket.

  • Complaints

    Any complaints during the tour must immediately be made to the shipping line, airline, organizer’s representative on the spot and the travel agent, so that an error/defect can be rectified immediately and with minimum inconvenience.

    If you complain directly to the relevant airline, shipping line, hotel or organizer’s representative on site, you should make sure that you have proof if the defect/fault cannot be corrected on the spot. Failing to obtain proof will make it harder for you to make a subsequent claim. Lack of complaint to the travel agent will usually result in the loss of right to later claims.

    Note, when signing a document, you enter into a binding contract; for example the rental of car or motorcycle will be binding by the text in the contract, regardless of what verbal information may have be given. In these cases, the travel agent cannot help with compensation, refunds etc. Always check what you sign, because you are liable for it.

  • Price changes

    The travel agency reserves the right, after the agreement to increase the price due to changes in transportation costs, including taxes, fuel prices, airport, port charges, landing charges or the like. A price change will be announced as soon as possible and no later than 20 days before departure.
  • Liability with sale of package tours

    By purchasing a package, (aircraft + other tourist services, or a cruise), the travel agency is the technical organizer, and as a traveler you are assured under the package tour law. The tours are excecuted following the conditions of package tours agreed upon by Danmarks Rejsebureau Forening and Forbrugerrådet.
  • Liability with sale of single services

    The purchase of a single service, such as a cruise or a flight (without hotel, etc.), the travel agency is acting solely as an intermediary for that/those carriers. This means that only the airline is responsible for the correct implementation of the transport agreement. The travel agency assumes no liability for costs arising from the transport company breaching the contract.
  • The traveler duties and responsibilities

    Upon receipt of travel documents it is the traveler’s duty to ensure that all necessary documents are included and are consistent with the order. It is especially important to note the names appear correct in accordance with the passports. If an error is discovered the travel agent should be contacted immediately.
  • Venue

    Any claims against the tour operator shall be settled under Danish law. The Maritime and Commercial Court in Denmark shall settle complaints or lawsuits that cannot be settled by the Tourism Board.
